Dynamic and Static Force Testing of Power-Operated Doors
DescriptionAutomatic doors can be dangerous if they are not installed properly or lack the necessary safety mechanisms. Safety requirements for automatic doors are laid down in the European Machinery Directive and in European standard regulations. One of the basic aspects of this procedure is the measurement of the closing force. Only properly adjusted automatic door systems are able to detect collisions and comply with the force limit values. The standard establishes a methodology for making the measurements.
SpecificationsThe tests are based on the following standards:
- EN 12453 Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates. Safety in use of power operated doors. Requirements and test methods.
- EN 12445 Industrial, commercial and garage Doors and gates. Safety in use of power operated doors. Test methods.
